Community Willow Bed & Living Willow Dome

We have planted a community willow bed! The project is a collaboration between Llangoed Village Hall, Menter Môn and local volunteers. Members of the Llangoed WI prepared the willow bed last summer as part of the garden renovation project. Local willow artist Maggie Evans has sourced and coordinated the planting of 8 different varieties of willow cuttings from Warwickshire Willow. The willow, once mature, will be used for community basketry and willow crafts.

We have also planted a willow dome - a cosy spot for storytelling, playing and more.

Three years after being planted, the willow is thriving and our willow dome has filled in to make a green and cozy spot in the garden. Thank you to Maggie Evans and all the dedicated volunteers who maintain these spaces.
